Eagle, CO As the name suggests, the town of Eagle lies along the banks of the Eagle River at the confluence with Brush Creek. The town is the Seat of Eagle County. The area was primarily a ranching and farming community in the past. However, today it is a growing resort area and almost suburb to the Vail area. Eagle never had much to do with the mining boom in the area. Other towns were always a little closer. But times were good based on the traffic moving through town and the ever present farming community. The railroad yard originally consisted of a passing siding with Depot, Section House, Bunk House and Water Tank.
